SENIOR DUTY METEOROLOGIST NWS ADMINISTRATIVE MESSAGE NWS NCEP CENTRAL OPERATIONS COLLEGE PARK MD 2215Z THU JUL 09 2020 ...INTERNET NETWORK MIGRATION... NCO continues to work towards resolving issues from Tuesday's network migration. 10 high priority issues at this time include: - Point & Click forecasts not available for SR WFOs - SS domain controllers can't access internet for CAC - SS unable to reach CMS - BLM Lightning data not updating for Alaska Region - NDBC buoy data delayed - ER, WR, CR are unable to reach NOMADS - ER unable to reach tgftp - AR no syncing to KC For API there are two issues - one VRF-work related and the other a pre-existing issue: - WFOs's ability to feed forecast data to the back-end of the API was disrupted during the Enterprise VRF work. The dataflow has been restored - most offices's data is current and NCO is working with the remaining 12 offices to have them resend their most recent forecast grids. - Users accessing the front end API URL are getting periodic time outs to their queries. This issue existed prior to the Enterprise VRF move and is being actively worked by NCO, but will require a longer-term infrastructure update. Users should retry their query as the timeouts are intermittent. Liddick/SDM/NCO/NCEP

SENIOR DUTY METEOROLOGIST NWS ALERT ADMININSTRATIVE MESSAGE NWS NCEP CENTRAL OPERATIONS COLLEGE PARK MD 1143Z TUE MAY 05 2020 ...REMINDER...PLANNED OUTAGE OF SOME NWS PRODUCTS TO THE SBN/NOAA PORT... The below maintenance is on schedule to start at 12Z this morning. On May 5th, 2020, NCO is moving AWIPS internet bound traffic from devices in Silver Spring to devices in College Park. For 2.5 hours, AWIPS reliance on the internet to send and receive information will be affected. Data will also be missing from NOAAPORT for AWIPS and NAWIPS systems and external customers. Complete details of the expected impacts are described below. In the event of CWD, this migration will be postponed. During the 2.5 hour maintenance window, AWIPS systems and other NOAAPORT customers will continue to receive most satellites, National Digital Forecast Database (NDFD), and Radar level 3 data via NOAAPORT/SBN. AWIPS and other external NOAAPORT customers will not receive model data and most observational data sets, including surface observations, lightning data, MADIS/HADS data, and MRMS data, among others. During the maintenance, AWIPS systems will be able to disseminate watches and warnings and any other products via NOAAPORT/SBN, IRIS, EMWIN, NLETS, iNWS and IPAWS; Other NWS dissemination pathways for watches and warnings including GTS, TGFTP, API, IDP GIS, nowCoast, and EDIS will be affected. This work will also have some impact on observational data (including raob data) ingest into the 12Z models.
